Men and women who need help with panic attacks should look to acupuncture as a potential cure. In clinical studies, acupuncture has been proven to help in a variety of disorders. The effect it has on panic attacks is related to the way your body deals with fear.

During a panic attack, your heart may pound; you may feel short of breath and feel like you are choking. A lot of people just want to flee this situation but feel that they are not able to.

Causes of panic attacks are numerous, they could be due to something going on in your life right now or it could be genetic. Other causes could be due to medication you may be taking or if you have an unhealthy diet.

It is normally good practice before starting a course of acupuncture to sit down and discuss your problem with a specialist. They can then assess where any imbalances may be in your body. The specialist will find out if you have a Qi (pronounced Chi) deficiency in your body.

The anxiety Qi deficiency is normally found in the spleen and kidney area. Your acupuncturist will be able to diagnose this and then decide on a course of treatment.

The treatment will include needles being inserted into various parts of your body. Some of these parts will, when triggered release endorphins which are the body’s internal pain regulators. There are also certain relaxation points that a needle can trigger which in turn can help to reduce your anxiety and therefore make you feel better.

As well as working with needles many acupuncturists will also work with you on diet and exercise patterns. After all a properly balanced body, will help to free you from the possibility of panic attacks. You may never have considered acupuncture before but it is certainly worth giving this holistic method a try. A lot of acupuncturists will give you a free consultation so you can determine whether this is the right approach for you.

So when you feel that you need help with panic attacks, it is important that you seek advice straight away. Don’t live your life in fear, take control and help change your standard of life for the better.

Coping with anger is something that we all face on a day to day basis and it can have serious consequences for our health. Learning how to deal with anger and frustration is something that when done correct can leave you with positive emotions instead of depressing ones.

There are various anger control techniques that you can use and one is to take a time out when something or somebody has angered you. If another person has angered you the worst thing that you can do is react straight away. This is a sure fire way of not only having the possibility of putting yourself and others in danger but also this rage can put a terrible strain on your heart.

Coping with anger by taking a time out will enable you to think about the situation and what exactly triggered your anger. By doing this you will more often than not start to calm down and be able to react in a more rational way.

One important thing to remember is anger is normally a spontaneous reaction and what has bothered you today will be forgotten by tomorrow. However your reaction to this will be long remembered if you start to lash out at others.

If you find the anger you have is so intense that taking a time out is not going to work then you must remove yourself from the situation as soon as possible. This is when you need to have some anger management exercises ready to fall back on.

Anger management exercises vary from the traditional counting to ten to actually physically taking your frustrations out on an inanimate object. One thing you need to remember though is that if you are physically going to hit something for example a bat onto a pillow or cushion then you must make sure you are alone.

Doing this in front of others especially family members can often lead to further complications as you will be portrayed as somebody who always uses violence as their anger control techniques. This in turn can often lead to relationships becoming strained as nobody will want to argue back with you for fear of physical violence.

What once could have been an open relationship will become closed and more often than not end in a break up. This is because even though you may have never hurt anybody before this act of violence towards this object will change a persons perception of you.

Unfortunately it is normally the people we care about most that get hurt when we get angry even though most of the time they are not the cause of the anger. This is often the case when other people have made us angry and we have not used any of the anger management exercises to calm it.

We then take our anger home with us and look for a reason to discharge it, such as a screaming child or a bill that you are unable to pay. These things which normally you could cope with become unbearable because you were not in the right frame of mind when you got home.

Coping with anger is not easy but if you can learn how to deal with anger and frustration correctly, you will not only improve your life but also the lives of those around you especially your loved ones.

Learning how to deal with anger and frustration is often something that you can not do fully by yourself. Even though you may think that you are controlling it yourself there will be times that your anger is so great that you just do not know what to do. Getting anger management tips from somebody more professional than yourself will benefit you in the long run.

Stress relief activities have been found to combat the symptoms of stress and anxiety, and one of the recommended activities of natural stress relief is to use visualization techniques. For thousands of years the art of visualization has been used to help both physical and psychological problems. The mind especially the subconscious mind is very powerful and can control many things. If you visualize something you are tapping into the healing power of your mind. If you have not tried this before it is worth doing as it can help you get rid of unwanted panic attacks.

Whenever you feel an attack of anxiety or panic coming on, close your eyes and start to visualize. Try visualizing a time when something made you laugh so much your body started shaking. This method is great because it will counteract any feelings of fear and panic you are getting from your attacks. You could also visualize yourself somewhere peaceful and calm. Try seeing yourself on a beach or sitting by a river and imagine the setting in as much detail as possible. This will take your mind away from thinking about anything else. The more vivid the detail the more the mind works on that one subject.
Whatever stress relief activities that you look at, it is always worth giving visualization a try first. Just think about it for a minute. When you are having a panic attack you start to have fears and those fears often flash through your mind as pictures. These images may make your heart palpitate and may even make some people think that they are dying.

If you replace those scary images with something peaceful or funny you can more easily get over your panic attacks and banish those irrational fears. You may soon start to feel that all is right and there really is nothing to worry about. You may find it difficult to visualize effectively and there is help for people who have that problem. There are therapists out there that specialize in visualization techniques and there are also CDs that you can buy on the subject.
You may find these visualization stress relief activities difficult to begin with and it may not work first time. However you need to stick with it because you will eventually allow your conscious and subconscious mind to think of peaceful things, so helping you to beat your panic attacks.

Anxiety attacks are normal body reactions – coping mechanisms – against different stressors and distressing predicaments. In other words, these are chemical, physical and emotional reactions that are elicit by fear, apprehension, or shock. These reactions also cause a “fight or flight” response. Based on scientific studies, people automatically react to stress or stress-inducing activities by either making a confrontational stance or making a decision to avoid the stress.

Pressure can come from an emotional problem in a relationship at home, demanding tasks and deadlines at the office, the dread of a forthcoming test, or the clamor for a game-winning performance in a championship game. All these can product constant anguish and even anxiety attacks if a person is not able to cope effectively with the stress. A person that is undergoing an anxiety attack often experiences a feeling of numbness or tingling, shortness of breath, dizziness, heightened palpitations, chronic sweating, chills, hot flushes, and nausea.

Extreme levels of anxiety can produce serious ill effects on one’s physical and mental health. Anxieties can actually a hinder or adversely affect a person’s the day-to-day activities. Aside from the possibility of leaving a person emotionally depressed and physically weak, anxiety can also cause a person lose the ability to make a rational decision. It is not uncommon to hear of cases of people with severe anxiety who have lost their jobs and failed in their relationships. For these people who have become victims of anxiety attacks, life has become a mere matter of survival — bereft of happiness, fulfillment, and health.

Some people can cope with depression and anxiety. But for a significant number of people who do not have the ability to cope with stress and anxiety, the only means to regain their life is to undergo therapy and, if necessary, take anxiety medications. These anxiety medications, if accompanied by therapy conducted by professionals, offer relief and possibly permanent protection from the debilitating effects of stress and severe emotional distress. Anxiety medications often vary in the dosage and desired effects. However, what is common among these anti-anxiety medications is the ability of these drugs to suppress unnecessary chemical and emotional surges. Controlling these chemical and emotional surges allow a person with anxiety to regain a sense of peace and tranquility.

Anxiety medications, also known as anxiolytics, are prescribed to treat the different symptoms of anxiety. For example, Bensodiazepines are prescribed to treat the short-term and disabling effects of anxiety. These drugs are take effect in a person’s central nervous system, which is the reason why a certain degree of sedation occurs in a patient using the medication.
Non-bensodiazepines, however, are used to control the serotonin level in the body. Serotonin is essential to the body for regulating anger, temperature, mood, sleep, vomiting, sexuality, and appetite. Though they are proven to be less effective than bensodiazepines, the serotonin-regulating effect of this type of anti-anxiety drug also helps a person to achieve a relaxed state.

While these medications offer relief, people must still practice a little caution before taking these anti-anxiety drugs. These drugs cannot totally remove all symptoms of anxiety. Of course, these medications cannot resolve an emotional or psychological problem that is actually the origin or source of a person’s anxiety attacks.

Your heart pounds, your palms sweat, you start shaking, you get short of breath. You experience a fear that seems overwhelming that came absolutely out of nowhere, and for no reason. You could have been driving your car, or awakened out of sleep, or at your desk performing your daily routine at your job. Perhaps it’s the first time it’s happened, perhaps not. If it’s not you probably know that you aren’t going to die, but you feel like it. If it’s the first time you are scared to death.

No one really knows what causes a panic attack to come on. Some medical professionals say that they can be related to heredity, some say to stress. Some say if you have a history of other mental disorders, such as depression or some phobias you are more likely to experience panic attacks. Know that you are not alone. It is estimated that one out of three adults will suffer a panic attack in their lifetime.

Some professionals have broken down panic attacks into three distinct types, spontaneous, specific and situational. A spontaneous panic attack would be as suggested by its name, one that happens unexpectedly. Panic attacks called specific are brought on, as also suggested by it’s name by specific repeated situations, and situational panic attacks may come while doing a certain type of activity, such as riding a bike, even though there is no panic or fright involved with the activity.

Some people suffer from a panic attack only once. These may be panic attacks which are brought on by major life stresses and ease after the stress is eliminated. Some suffer from repeated panic attacks. The type of help you seek for panic attacks and the type of help you are given by medical professionals will be based on how many panic attacks you suffer from. Some health care professionals and organizations seek to treat people who suffer from infrequent panic attacks with a step program, similar to that used with alcoholics anonymous. Some medical professionals will treat more severe and recurrent panic attacks with medication. Generally patients who suffer from repeated panic attacks will benefit by being referred to a phychologist or psychiatrist for counseling.

Anxiety is a disorder that can negatively affect every aspect of a person’s life. A person who experiences anxiety may become panicked if a certain situation occurs. For example an individual who has anxiety about financial matters may experience a panic attack, stress and extreme worry if their car needs to be repaired or something breaks in the house. Someone who experiences anxiety at work may be looked over for promotions and raises.

Anxiety is fear and worry that can take control of a person’s life. An individual who has anxiety will learn to avoid certain situations that cause worry or panic. Some common anxieties are fear of social situations, fear of authority, fear of relationships and fear about money. Anxiety can lead to other mental disorders such as agoraphobia or obsessive compulsive disorder. Anxiety does not have to control your life, there is an effective way to overcome it.

Hypnosis is a proven method for overcoming anxiety. The process of hypnosis is rewarding, positive, safe and gentle. A person who has undergone hypnosis will not only overcome anxiety but will have more confidence, increased self esteem and a more positive perspective on life. Hypnosis calms the nerves, the mind and the whole body while alleviating the stress and anxiety that an individual may experience. Hypnosis is an amazing process that dips into the resources of the subconscious mind.

When a person undergoes hypnosis that person is placed in a deep state of relaxation. As the state of relaxation progresses the subconscious mind becomes receptive to positive suggestions, new ideas and different perspectives. An individual in hypnosis will receive motivational encouragement, confidence building statements and a direct plan for overcoming anxiety. The beliefs, behaviors and thinking patterns of the individual will change.

Through hypnosis an individual can visualize themselves free from anxiety. The individual is able to “feel” how wonderful life is without anxiety and this in of itself will have a profound affect.

If you want to overcome anxiety and lead a happier life then as a practicing hypnotherapist I recommend that you take advantage of the services of a qualified hypnotherapist in your area. Hypnosis is an experience that will allow you to live a richer and more rewarding life without anxiety stopping you from reaching your goals and aspirations.
